LECTURES
Week 6 // 06.10.2022
Lecture 6
During the class in week 6, we had a recap on the
earlier topics we learned, from week 1 to week 5, the 12 principles of
animation. After we were done recapping by Mr. Kamal, we were given our
first project. Which is a Walking animation; we were tasked to create a
few secs video of a character of our own choice, walking, side view, and
from view. Mr. Kamal also taught us the basics of creating a walking
animation in class, which I found super helpful.

Week 7 // 13.10.2022
Lecture 7
Seventh class of the semester. We learned two new
principles in the class: appeal and animation clarity. Principle Appeal
is the animation's charm, such as simplicity, uniqueness, quality
design, etc. Like how the actor has charisma, drawing has appeal.
Principle Animation Clarity is keeping the animation smooth, so it would
be effortlessly charming and understood by the audience, not
complicating them. We learned this, so it would help us with the
project.

Week 8 // 19.10.2022
Lecture 8
In lecture number 8, we learned about action
animation. We learned the basics, the timing, and the spacing it needs to
create the animation. The key to creating them is the extreme and breaking
down how to create action animation. We were also tasked with project 2,
action animation.

In Project 1, we are tasked by Mr. Kamal to create a walking animation of our own character. As a beginner in animating, I started by learning the steps of walking animation. Therefore, I watched a couple videos on Youtube and recapped the lessons I went through.

After I was done watching the videos on the walk cycle, I started to plan what I was going to do for this project and how I was going to execute it. After a while of thinking in my own thought, I decided why not use the previous character from exercise 4 for his project since I had already sketched out the character proportion in] all angles. It would be easier to finish this project. Here is the character I did previously:

Not included in Exercise 4, but I did color the character too.

To get a better feel for walking animation, specifically Arnold walking animation. I tried to find a clip of Arnold walking in the show itself. To be honest, I couldn't find a specific one (no photo shots of him walking, too); these were the closest to seeing him walking, only I could get.

REFLECTION
Project 1: Walk Cycle Animation
Project 1, the walking cycle animation, was definitely a fun one to do. I learned a fundamental movement of a character, although the one I executed was jittery. But, as a complete beginner, I felt I did an okay job animating the walk cycle. And I will practice more in the future to keep getting better. Not to mention, I did it all in Procreate.
