PROJECT

Final Project: Character Modelling
The final project task consists of you producing an organic character from a character model sheet. As usual, using the techniques based on what we have learned in class. Then we would have to apply the right texture and lighting.

I have always been a Pokemon fan, especially Blastoise, as he's my favourite Pokemon in the series. So for the final project, I would be making Blastoise. Then for starters, I need to find a model sheet for the character Blastoise to use as a reference.

Even with the techniques I have been taught, it proved to be difficult to produce a Blastoise model. Therefore, I proceeded to watch multiple tutorials, as usual, to get an understanding of the Blastoise shape.

After finishing watching the tutorials, without further ado, I started modelling the character Blastoise. I began by modelling the back of Blastoise, as in the shell of his. I created it using a circle shape, whereas I manipulated it to look like the shell of a Blastoise.

Then I progress to modelling his cannon using a cylinder shape and extrusion method. I move to mode, its outer line between the body and the shell. By using bevelling and extrusion, I managed to model the outer line.

And next, by using multiple circle and cylinder shapes, extruding, scaling and bevelling. I was able to model the rest of Blastoise's body, including his face, eyes, legs and claws.

Finally, I added texture to Blastoise, using a mix of standard and shiny colours. And remember, I used a subdivision surface to smoothen the character model. (I added a background too).

There were holes, which can be seen in the picture above. Therefore, I decided to repair it by adjusting the wireframe of Blastoise. Finally, I put down the lighting to create the final outlook of Blastoise. Here is the final look:

REFLECTIONS

Final Project: Character Modelling
I find that this project seems to be a bit easier as there arent that many object needed to be done comp[ared to the project 2. Although, originally, I wanted to add a bit of spice to Blastoise by putting Tuxedo on him . I failed to do so, as there weren't enough time  to complete. And I find that it wasn't easy to create it. But overall, I am glad to be able to finish this project, because i find it achieving ti be able to create my childhood favourite Pokemon.
