PROJECT
Project 2: Theme-Based Scene Modelling
In this project, we must create a scene-based environment model using the techniques we have learned in class.
It has to be in a diorama or isometric composition. Finally, it needs
to be rendered in Eevee or Cycle form.

For project 2, theme scene-based modelling, I will make a cubical room that feels classic or vintage. As I find vintage and classic pleasing and aesthetic. So first thing first, I searched for inspiration, a reference to get an idea of what to make.

I needed to simplify the version shown above, so I began by listing the items I wanted to create and then searched for tutorials on each part I decided to create. The list of items are bookshelf, carpet, table, chair, lantern and so on.
I made about three different types of chairs. I made out the shapes of the chair using cylinders, planes and circles, which I would then use subdivision surface to smoothen the chairs.

I then proceeded to create a table, including a lantern too. As for the table, I mostly use a plane shape to create it. And as for the lantern, I used a circle shape and a point for the light.

Moving along, I created the carpet and bookshelf too.

After I was done with creating all the necessary parts. I proceeded to create the cubical room. I created the cubic room using the inspiration above. There are a few adjustments to it. Those are; I have added a second floor to it and added brick walls.

I immediately added the materials I had created before onto the cubical room. I didn't know where to put so it was a trial and error. It took me some time to get the look I wanted. I even added a background along the way.

I wasn't satisfied with the look. Therefore, I added a few more materials to look more fulfilling. I added a few more lanterns, a coffee, cookies, books, stairs, drawers, and frames.

The final two steps are to add texture to the materials and lighting to make them more appealing. Firstly, I wanted it to look more medieval and industrial, so I added brick and wood texture to the walls, floors, chairs, tables, drawers and bookshelves. I then made lighting coming from the lantern and the top.

REFLECTIONS
Project 2: Theme-Based Scene Modelling
Theme-based scene modelling was another challenging project for me as I am not the creative type. This project challenges your creativity, unless if you watch a whole tutorial video on how to create a specific cubical model. Then that would be different. Anyway, I had to watch multiples tutorials and combined all those ideas into one. As a not creative person and a perfectionist, I always felt like my cubical 3d model could be better or lacking in certain aspects. I had to go through many trials and errors just to get a look that satisfied me. To top it off, I struggled, and it took me a long time to finish, but I managed to finish it, and I am satisfied with the look.
