LECTURES
Week 1 // 04.04.2023
Lecture 1
I didn't join the first class of the week, so I
missed the introduction to the module. But I do know the lecturer. His
name is Mr Martin, he was previously a lecturer of mine in the
previous year. Although I missed the class, I was told I could look up
the briefing slides given by him. Which I eventually did after on, on
my own time.
The information in the briefing slides explains
the learning objectives, the projects/exercises that will be given
throughout the semester and recommendations on tools needed for the
semester, such as headphones and a tripod.

Week 2 // 11.04.2023
Lecture 2
In the second class of the module, we learned about Framing
& Storyboard, a bit of history of one of the earliest cinemas that
were made, and how they are multiple shots that can be done in a
respective frame. There were a couple of videos shown by Mr Martin so
it's easy to digest the information told by him.
After the teaching, there was an exercise that
everyone would have to do: get a few shots off from different angles.
Everyone needed to do it with a partner, I had no partner, so I was
paired up with two already paired students. It didn't take long to
finish taking the photos. Here are some of the photos that were taken
that day;

Week 3 // 18.04.2023
Lecture 3
This week, I have learned of the 3-act
structure, which includes the beginning, the middle, aka
confrontation and the end or, in other words, the climax. Also, here
is a recap from last week's class lesson at the start.

Week 4 // 25.04.2023
Lecture 4
I didn't participate in this week's lesson
because it was Raya week, and I returned to my hometown to
celebrate it. But I checked the slides given this week and read
them a bit. There are two slides; the first talks about the art of
sound designs, basically a general explanation of film sounds and
the other talks about colour correction, an ultimate guide to
colour grading.

EXERCISES
Week 1 // 04.04.2023
Week 1 Exercise
What are the exercises that need to be done in
week 1? As I didn't join the class, I looked up in the Teams to see
the tasks given out by Mr Martin.
Firstly, we had to explain our understanding of
TikTok and then share three favourite videos from Tiktok. Finally,
we must complete the two editing exercises Mr Martin handed
out.
Understanding On TikTok
Tiktok was initially known as Musically, but the name
was changed to TikTok sometime in 2017. TikTok is a social media
platform for creating and enjoying various videos. It's a place to
enjoy watching or creating relatable, making, or even educational
videos. This is my take on TikTok, as I like to watch videos I can
relate to and find comforting. Also, I was able to gain knowledge on
stuff I didn't even know.

Exercise 1 & 2 // Editing Exercise
We are tasked to download the footage found in
Teams and import it into Adobe Premier Pro so we can arrange the
footage according to its proper arrangement.
First Video: Mints Advertisement
The first editing
exercise was straightforward and easy, as I only needed to import the
footage into Adobe Premier Pro and export it to YouTube.

Second Video: Doritos Advertisement
But as for the second exercise. Although it was a
similar task. The arrangement wasn't made earlier, so I had to do it
myself, which took some time. I had to listen and watch the clips all
over again to match the clips together. It was confusing at first, but
after you found the trick to it, it was easy.

Week 2 // 11.04.2023
Week 2 Exercise
In the second week, we are task another two
exercises. The first is to edit the shoots we made today with the help
of a tutorial video from Mr Martin. The second is an editing exercise
named Lalin. Another one was to start doing Project 1: Audio Dubbing.

Exercise 3 & 4 // Editing Exercise
Another two editing exercises were given this week
by Martin. Exercise 3 shoots were done during class, and I have put
the video under Lecture, and we are tasked to edit it with the
tutorial video Mr Martin gave. The same goes for Exercise 4, but the
materials must be downloaded.
Third Video: Shooting Edit
I started by watching Mr Martin's tutorial to know
what to do for this exercise. This exercise teaches us to use critical
letters or words in the video.

After watching the tutorial, I edited the shoos
video I took in the class. It was brief and straightforward, so it
took some time to edit it.

Fourth Video: Lalin
In this exercise, we are tasked to download the
footage, watch the original video, and watch the editing tutorial sent
by Mr Martin. The original video is about Lalin, and the footage
downloaded are recordings of our seniors who used that video as a
reference for shooting their own.

(Tutorial Video)
I downloaded the footage and immediately got into
editing by importing the footage into Premier Adobe Pro.

Afterwards, I cut and arranged the footage to its
rightful placement. The key was to get the timing right because if you
just blindly cut and arranged footage, it would look weird despite
sitting at the 35 seconds mark. It took me about 30 minutes to finish
it.

After uploading the video to Youtube and watching
it again, I returned to Adobe Premier Pro to remove the sound so the
video would be better. But I have decided to keep the one with the
sound too.

REFLECTIONS
Exercises
The exercises Mr Martin gave were relatively easy to
catch up with due to the reasonable instructions and tutorials he pointed
out. The tutorial videos were easy to follow and learn from. I could
finish my exercises efficiently by watching the tutorials and reading the
instructions. Although I am not an expert at Adobe Premier Pro, I have
much to learn. Overall, the exercises were a great start to the semester
as I learned basic skills and knowledge on Adobe Premier Pro.
